Consumer Information on Dish Network, Direct TV & Voom

About DirecTV

DirecTV, commonly misspelled as Direct TV, is the largest satellite TV provider in the US and offers service in all 50 states. DirecTV offers slightly fewer channels than DISH Network but is very similar in service to it. Local channels are available in most US cities at no extra cost.

If you want to watch HDTV (high-definition) programming, you will need to upgrade a different satellite dish and receiver (at extra cost) that can receive the HD signals. Currently Direct TV offers about 10 HDTV channels.

Of the three satellite TV providers, Direct TV is the only one that also provides satellite Internet through it's DirecWay system. This again requires a different dish to receive signals

Monthly costs range from around $35 - $85 per month, with some premium services extra. For specific channel broadcast information, see DirecTV channel packages at their website.
